Krabi Beaches Introduction
Do you love to explore beautiful beaches?
Krabi, Thailand may be the perfect beach destination for you. Krabi is a Southern province of Thailand, and there are 5 unique and beautiful beaches on the mainland that are worth exploring. We’ll cover the benefits of each unique beach, activities to do, and the best way to get there, so you can enjoy your trip to paradise fully.
1. Ao Nang Beach
Ao Nang Beach is definitely our favorite Krabi beach. This beach is most easily accessible to all the Ao Nang hotels and resorts. Most hotels are within walking distance to this beach and amenities like restaurants, shopping, boat tours, and nightclubs are all nearby. This beach has soft, powdery sand, majestic limestone mountains, beautiful views of islands across the water, and is great beach for swimming.
It’s a beautiful place to relax, unwind, and enjoy your holiday.

2. Noparathara Beach
Noparathara Beach is within walking distance of Ao Nang beach, so it has a similar landscape. The main difference is that this beach is full of sea shells and full of sea life. At low tide, you can see thousands of crabs running around, the occasional starfish, and the occasional jellyfish so be careful.
The most beautiful part of this beach is towards the right-hand side where there’s rocks and a bay with soft crystal clear water that’s excellent for swimming.
Noparathara is most popular as a picnic spot. There are dozens of restaurants and street food stalls to choose from. You can order some food and sit by the beach walls and enjoy the beautiful sea views.
3. Railay Beach
Railay Beach has unique and spectacular rock formations that are worth seeing. Railey Beach West definitely has the best views and is the nicest place to lounge around, go for a swim, or do some kayaking. We enjoyed exploring the rocks, and if you’re lucky or unlucky depending on your perspective, you might even get to see a monitor lizard.
But there’s much more to see at Railey than just one beach. You can also walk around the village to see dozens for restaurants, bars, and shops.
There are also caves to explore. We recommend walking past East Railey Beach to the Phra Nang Caves. If you walk all the way to the end you will see Phra Nang Cave Beach which has beautiful stalimites and altars to say a prayer and wish for a blessing.
Because of the enormous mountains Railey Beach is only accessible by boat. You can take a boat from Noparathara Beach. It’s 1500 baht to rent a private boat to make the roundtrip journey. So arrange some friends to split the cost. You won’t regret it! It’s just a quick 15 minute ride, with beautiful views along the way.
Public boats to Railey Beach are also available in high season for 200 baht per person one way, but unfortunately there were no other tourists to share a boat with when we went. This is why we hired a private boat.
4. Khlong Muang Beach
Khlong Muang Beach Is a resort beach. Many 4-5 star hotels line this beach and it caters to the traveller who likes to completely relax and recuperate in a less busy area.
This beach is quite long with soft powdery sand. Our favorite part was at the far right side there’s a beautiful rocky area. The rocks really all a lot of character to this beach.
This beach is about 20 minutes from Ao Nang Beach, so you can rent a motorbike, rent a car, or book a ride on Grab, which is the Uber of Thailand. Driving there was a bit tricky as Google maps kept trying to take us to one of the resorts that had no public access.
Instead, if you put in Ban Khlong Mung School into Google Maps you will have an easier time reaching the public beach access point.
5. Tubkaek Beach
Tubkaek Beach is also a resort beach. This beach is unique because of the big rocks both near and far that make this beach’s view unbelievably beautiful. At low tide, you can climb the rocks to take fantastic pictures like this.
But be careful! These rocks are made out of very sharp fossilized sea shells. I cut myself pretty badly on the way down. If you are willing to bleed for your photos, then give it a try. If not you can admire them from the safety of the ground.
The sunsets here are especially lovely so have a drink and watch an unforgettable sunset.
Public access is available at the driveway by Sunset Tubkaek resort. So you should put in Sunset Tubkaek into Google maps if you are driving yourself.
