South Korea is on our travel bucket list because we are obsessed with Korean dramas and K-pop! We can’t wait to be in the country that created our favorite shows and music.

In addition to these modern wonders, we love the history! We can’t wait to experience South Korea’s Joseon era palaces and try wearing the traditional clothing for ourselves. We’ve checked, Hanbok traditional clothing rental is a thing! You can rent a hanbok and go take Instagram photos at the traditional palaces. How fun!

We would visit major cities like Seoul and Busan. Then, we would head to Jeju Island to explore the beautiful natural landscapes of South Korea’s most popular island.  I’m getting excited just writing about it.

Seoul

Seoul Cityscape

Seoul is the capital city and center of Korean commerce.  Although the city is a modern wonderland, you can still see some of the ancient palaces and imagine how things might have been in ancient times.  There are several museums and folk villages where you can learn about traditional Korean clothing and culture.

There are also numerous temples and shrines worth visiting.  You can even go up Seoul Tower to see a great view of the city.

Busan

South Korea Travel Ideas

Busan is another major city on the Southern coast of Korea and is just a 3-hour train ride from Seoul.  You can visit Busan to enjoy views of the sea and the colorful houses in the Gamcheon Cultural Village.  It’s a village so cute that it’s a photographer’s playground.  Busan is lots of scenic viewpoints from mountain cliffs to charming temple grounds.

After a long day of exploring, you can enjoy Busan’s beaches and get some much-needed rest and relaxation.

Jeju Island

Jeju Island South Korea

If you really want to get away and enjoy nature, you can escape to Jeju Island.  This island has the Seongsan Ilchulbong mountain that is worth climbing for its tremendous view.

This island also has beautiful gardens, scenic trails, and beaches to explore.

South Korea may be a small country in size, but it offers a lot to see and to experience.
